A "Device State Unknown" is a generally a normal message to see on your Alarm.com account if you just bought your system. The device was pre-programmed into the system before it was sent to you. When a customer receives the system and mounts all of the sensors and powers up the security system, the newly-restarted system has to receive a signal from all the sensors in order to "pick them up" again. This can be done simply by "tripping" a device; for example, by opening and closing a door or window sensor, or by pressing the tamper switch. If you do this to all of your sensors that show this message and then log out and log back in to your Alarm.com account, the "Device State Unknown" message should disappear.
