The better you understand your system, the more comfortable you will be using it. Here is a quick guide to system operation.
Arming the Simon XTi
To arm your system press the "Press To Arm" icon near the center of the screen.
There are two ways of arming your system:
1. Doors and Windows Only (Which arms all the doors and windows in your house.)
2. Arm All (This will arm the motion, doors, and windows throughout your house.)
When arming your system it will give a default of 45 seconds before the system is armed. You will notice when it's going through the countdown it will beep until it has finished. If you don't want to hear the constant beeping you can turn "On" the "Silent Exit". This will silence the beeping except for the first set of beeps and the last set of beeps during the arming countdown.
To disarm your system you will need to select "Press to Disarm" icon near the center of the screen.
On this page, you need to enter your master code to disarm your system.
To access the panic keys, you will need to select "Emergency" at the top left corner of the screen.
There will be a Medical Panic (simply labeled as Panic), Police Panic, and Fire Panic visible on the screen. When selecting one of these panics it will send out a signal to the Monitoring Station informing them of the panic alarm. They will respond to the panic signals by dispatching the appropriate department.
Bypassing a Sensor
The Direct Bypass button is used to skip arming any open doors or windows and still arm everything else. To do this, make sure to arm the system and enter the settings page by pressing the "Gear Icon" at the bottom right corner of the page.
Select the "Direct Bypass" button on the settings page.
Enter your code and it will take you into a menu with a list of your sensors. On the right side, it will tell you if the sensors are not bypassed. Select the sensor you wish to bypass.
Remember that when you have bypassed a sensor, while the system is armed, it will go back to default once the system has been disarmed.
Checking Your System Status
If you want to receive an audible status from your system as well as your sensors, press "Listen" in the settings area.
This will tell you if a door or window is currently open. Normally the system will say "System Okay". If you ever hear your panel randomly beeping throughout the day you can select "Listen" and it will inform you on what is the current status of your system.
